4 Words Daily: Day 32

“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” Mark Twain.

Based on a suggestion, from now on, words that I post here will be followed by their phonetics. “A quote, 4 words, their phonetics, 4 words from the previous post”: these all will be included in every post. Hope you fellas like this little new introduction.

The words for today are:

  • Quixotic  \ kwik-ˈsä-tik \:
    • Marked by rash lofty romantic ideas or extravagantly chivalrous action.
  • Careen  \ kə-ˈrēn \:
    • Move swiftly and in an uncontrolled way.
  • Poltergeist  \ ˈpōl-tər-ˌgīst \:
    • A noisy usually mischievous ghost held to be responsible for knocking sounds.
  • Supplant  \ sə-ˈplant \
    • To supersede (another) especially by force or treachery.

List of previous four words:

  • Evanescent
  • Glen
  • Axiom
  • Subterfuge

Thank you Sakshi for suggesting the use of phonetics… for you’ll be glad to see it here incorporated.

If you would like to make any suggestions or improvements; they are gladly welcome. Let me know through your comments!!

Thanks 🙏 for visiting!! Have a great 👍 day…Hope this little blog post helped you in some way or another. If it did, I’m really glad (I’m sure there’s no scope for this post not being helpful!!). Cheers 🍻 .
