Back in those days

Back in those days,
Slowly we slept into our fears.
All grown up now,
We sleep all the way into our tears.

Back in those days,
We were pure carbon.
Life pressed us so hard,
We turned into diamond.

Stars and moon,
We used to gaze.
Leisure is all but gone,
Life is nothing but a chase.

Innocent questions we used to ask
Answers were sufficiently rare.
Truth is now just a maze,
We are body of lies, and really, no one cares.

That kid in me,
Now is a lost reality.
We bear most things silently,
This is the harsh reality.

Miss those gaze at stars and moon
Time, we say is insufficient.
Money rules us all,
All we have become is impatient.
